La serie di Robert Kirkman è un successo internazionale che miete successi in tutto il mondo, ma a quanto pare per gli Emmy non è abbastanza: infatti, sia la serie madre che il suo spin-off hanno ricevuto soltanto un paio di nomination agli Emmy 2016.

Come riporta FOX, “se si esclude la categoria degli effetti speciali, la serie creata da Robert Kirkman è esclusa da qualunque premio importante. E, cosa ancora più assurda, non ha mai vinto un Emmy.
Non appena resa pubblica la lista con tutti i nomi, i fan hanno iniziato a ribellarsi. Su twitter si è scatenato un vero e proprio pandemonio contro l’Academy of Television Arts & Sciences che, per l’ennesima volta, a detta dei fan della serie, ha snobbato The Walking Dead.
In effetti è molto strano che uno degli show di maggior successo di sempre nella storia della televisione continui sistematicamente ad essere ignorato dalla critica.
I fan dello show sono rimasti completamente sconvolti dal fatto che Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) e Melissa McBride (Carol), che hanno dato enorme prova della loro grande capacità attoriale nel corso della sesta stagione, non siano neanche stati presi in considerazione.”
